Favorite healthy foods:
ANY fruit, salmon, crab legs, most seafood (no imitation crab, though! ICK!), chicken breasts, Greek yogurt, peanut butter (though it's not healthy when I want to eat the whole jar!), Southwestern style Egg Beaters, whole wheat/high fiber tortillas, lean steak, sweet potatoes, broccoli, and BSN Lean Dessert protein shakes

Favorite UNhealthy foods:
ICE CREAM!!!, brownies, tiramisu, flan, key lime pie, all baked goods, Cheetos, chocolate, party mixes, and, of course, Chinese, pizza, and Italian have to get mentioned

Favorite type of exercise:
Biking!

Least favorite type of exercise:
Running. I just feel like an elephant.

Favorite body part to work:
Probably either arms or back. Gotta keep up the upper body! Nature dictates it to be a woman's weakest area.

Other than fitness:
Spending time with friends and family, volunteer work/community outreach, writing (poetry, songwriting, stories, scripts, you name it!), music, movies and TV shows when I have the time, making people laugh, going to the beach, shopping, and doing silly/ridiculous things every now and then. You're never too old for those!

Hi, I'm Aidyn Rocher (AID-in ro-SHAY), as I'm sure you've assumed by now. I'm an ISSA-certified personal trainer and nutritional consultant. I can honestly say I'm VERY passionate about everything related to health, fitness, and well-being.
See, I used to be overweight. I know what it's like to huff and puff after running for ten seconds. I know what it's like to hear cookies calling my name. I know what it's like to experience social anxiety due to discomfort with my body. And I've seen through personal experience how society judges those who are, well, people of substance. I used to eat lots of junk. I used to hate exercise. I used to live for TV shows with Ben and Jerry by my side. Before that, I struggled with eating disorders, was on the border of being considered clinically underweight, binge ate one or two days out the week while I starved the rest of the time, and oh -- I hated exercise then, too.

One day, I decided I got fat. A year later, I decided to do something about it, after stepping on the scale at Publix and realizing I weighed almost as much as my father! (Click here to read an elaborate version of my story.) I was completely clueless to the world of weight loss and harbored every misconception imaginable. I had no idea how to even lose weight without taking unhealthy measures, though I figured it out eventually and dropped fifty pounds in six months by counting calories/controlling portions and exercising like a mad woman. And yes, when I first started exercising, I hated it, until I stopped feeling perpetually sore and began feeling good.

My intense desire to lose weight and change my lifestyle fueled my passion for health and fitness. I got really excited about my workout routines and was always looking for new ways to prepare healthy food. After I lost the weight, everyone asked me how I did it. Unfortunately, once they realized I didn't use a magic pill or buy a weird gadget hawked on late night television, they lost interest. Nevertheless, I started to realize there ARE some people out there who DO genuinely want to know how I lost the weight; I just didn't know them! I so badly wanted to share my excitement, joy, and enthusiasm with the whole world -- and THAT is what motivated me to start personal training.
